Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills(IOLS)

“This hands-on program gives adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a Scout-led troop by teaching many of the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors.”

Come and join us for IOLS training at Camp Davy Crockett.

 

Items to bring:

  • Tent
  • Sleeping Pad
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Scouts BSA Handbook
  • Rain Gear
  • Water Bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Map/Compass
  • Clothing for the Season (to be comfortable in the outdoors)
  • Eating/Mess Kit
  • Notebook or Paper
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Camp Chair (for comfort, but there will be picnic tables...1st come, 1st serve)

For this course you will setup camp as a patrol and sleep in a tent you pitch(provided  by yourself) Friday night. Saturday you will prepare and eat three meals (provided by the course) with your patrol and training will conclude Saturday night around 8. You are welcome to dismiss Saturday night or Sunday morning."
