Brazos River Canoe Trek 2023

Event Details

The Brazos River Canoe Trek (BRCT) is a 50-mile canoe camping trek that is a Worth Ranch high adventure tradition! Spend a week on the river, earn BSA’s 50 Miler award, and test your canoeing, camping, and fishing skills. We do 4 miles of hiking and 47 miles paddling the scenic Brazos River from Possum Kingdom Dam to Oak’s Crossing.

Any Troop, Team, Crew, or Post may send a crew on the Brazos River Canoe Trek. Some units use the BRCT as a shakedown for Northern Tier. Council high-adventure programs are for older Scouts and Venturers. Every participant must be at least age 13, or have completed the seventh grade. All participants MUST pass a BSA swimmers test, and participate in a skills review before beginning the trek.
