NRA Range Safety Officer Training

NRA Range Safety Officer Course
NRA Range Safety Officers (RSO) are in control of a firearm range when the range is open for shooting. The main function of an RSO is to ensure the range operates in a safe manner and that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for that range are followed. An NRA RSO along with a NRA Instructor for the shooting discipline being shot is required for any Scouts BSA or Venture shooting outside of an accredited summer camp. NRA RSO can also assist with other shooting and target sports for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA and Venture events under BSA guidelines to range supervision.
This NRA RSO course is a one-day course. Participants must attend the entire sessions, successfully complete hands-on practical exercises and successfully complete a written exam to become a certified NRA RSO. The course fee covers the cost of the course materials and refreshments. You will need to pay a fee to the NRA to complete your certification.
