Chester County Council 2026 Klondike Derby

January 23-25, 2026

The Klondike Derby at the Horseshoe Scout Reservation is an annual tradition where Scouts enjoy winter camping, scout skills challenges, and fun! This year’s event will again have the day events on the Horseshoe side of the Reservation. Last year’s success with larger parking and event facilities worked well.

This year's theme will be Rebel Winter. It is loosely based on the recent Star Wars series Andor. Patrols will be the Rebels. Their participation will help get the coded message to the Rebel Alliance about the construction of the Death Star and other Imperial maneuvers. A variety of host troops will be running each of the events. Patrol Leaders prepare your winter and scouting skills to test against other patrols. Many of the traditional skills from previous Klondike Derbys will be featured again with some potential new stations.

Register online here through January 15, 2026 or by Dec 27, 2025 to get the early-bird rate! Come for the day or the weekend and enjoy the challenges planned for you. Both indoor and outdoor camping is available at both Camp Horseshoe and Camp Ware. Camping assignments are based on a first-come first-served basis. For questions email: Klondike@cccbsa.org.

Lunch will not be provided for this event. Please make arrangements to pack lunch in for the day.

Final Rosters
Email your final roster with patrol name(s) before 1/15/26 to Klondike@cccbsa.org.

Indoor Camping
$25.00 per Scout, Webelos/AOL, or Leader.
(Cabins will be assigned on first-come basis and you could be sharing space. Units will be informed of cabin assignments by or before 1/20/26)

Outside Camping
$15.00 per Scout, Leader, or Parent (No Webelos or Arrow of Light).

(Sites will be assigned on first-come basis. Units will be informed of site assignments by or before 1/20/26)

Day Event Only (No Camping)
$10.00 per Scout, Webelos/AOL, Leader, or parent

Late Fees
Any registrations after 12/27/2025 will be charged a $5 late fee per person.
