Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

FOR ALL CUB-LEVEL SCOUTERS!  A BALOO-trained leader must be present at any pack overnighter or Webelos/AOL den overnight trips!

When: April 11 - 12 (Begins at 6 p.m. Friday, ends by 7 p.m. Saturday)

Location: Camp Karoondinha, 225 Thomas Dam Road, Millmont PA

What is BALOO training?
BALOO Training introduces both Cub Scout Leaders and parents to the basic skills that are needed to plan and carry out a successful outdoor outing or camping trip. Some of the topics that will be covered include Aquatics, Cub Scouts and GPS, Stoves, Lanterns, and Fires, Health
and Safety, campsite selection, etc.
This training will be held outdoors so please plan to bring appropriate sleeping equipment and gear for the weather. A general gear list is linked below.

Prerequisites:
You must complete the online portion of the BALOO training. The online portion of the training is located on www.my.scouting.org. Once you log into your my.scouting.org account, click on My Training, and then click on Expanded Learning and select BALOO from the menu. The online portion takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. Once you complete the training, please print out the completed training certificate and bring it with you to the training on April 11, 2025.
*Please note that there will not be a pre-meeting for the Spring Course this year. Instead, an email will be sent out to all participants with details about the training. Please email Course Director John Blasius (jblasius2005@gmail.com) any dietary restrictions when you register for
