BSA Wilderness First Aid 

This course will teach you best practices to prevent, assess, and treat medical emergencies when in the backcountry – which is defined as being more than one hour away from definitive medical care.  The class is a 16-hour certification which includes not only classroom instruction but also a practical hands-on application in the form of practice scenarios.  Most important, it emphasizes that the safety of everyone involved is paramount, and it teaches participants how to gain control of an urgent situation so that resources can be utilized appropriately. 

Date:  Friday April 5th thru Saturday April 6th

Cost:  $135 which includes the following:  Wilderness First Aid Field Guide, First Aid Kit, Housing and food Friday-Saturday.

Location:  HMSR

Participants must: be at least 18 years of age.  Having basic first-aid training is very helpful but is not mandatory.
