2025 Oneida District Fall Camporee - Canal Life: The Juniata Division
Event Theme: "Canal Life: The Juniata Division"
This theme focuses on the daily life of those who built, operated, and lived along the canal during its active period from 1832 to 1888. The activities are designed to be hands-on for the public and to provide a rewarding learning experience for the Scouts. Units will camp at Riverside Park Friday and Saturday nights September 5-7. They will have electric and and drinking water at the pavilion. On Saturday, The Mount Union Historical Society is where units will do the Scouting Exposition featuring demonstrations, crafts and games of the 1830s-1880s era of the Juniata Division of the Main Line Canal from 9am-Noon on Saturday, then after lunch, Scouts can hike to the Newton Hamilton Lockhouse for demonstrations in the afternoon.
