Spring Camporee – Space Exploration Adventure!

Prepare for liftoff! Join us for an exciting weekend of space-themed adventure, hands-on learning, and outdoor fun at this year’s Spring Camporee. Scouts will explore the final frontier while camping, building skills, and working toward advancement.

Program Highlights

• Work on requirements for the Space Exploration Merit Badge
• Work on requirements for the Astronomy Merit Badge
• Design, build, and launch model rockets
• Night sky observation and astronomy activities (weather permitting)
• Patrol-based competitions and challenges
• Traditional camping experience with campfire program

Advancement Opportunities

Scouts will have the opportunity to work on select requirements for:

• Space Exploration Merit Badge
• Astronomy Merit Badge

Important Note: Completion of all merit badge requirements is not guaranteed during the weekend. Scouts may need to complete additional requirements with their unit or a merit badge counselor.

Cost & Registration

• Cost: $20 per Scout
• Fee includes:
  • Official Spring Camporee patch
  • Model rocket kit for launch activities

All participants must be registered through the Black Pug system. Units are responsible for ensuring proper leadership and Youth Protection compliance.

Camping Information

• This is a unit-based camping event
• Units should bring their own camping gear, food, and cooking equipment
• Campsites will be assigned upon arrival

Schedule Overview

A detailed schedule will be provided closer to the event date.

General Timeline:

• Friday Evening: Arrival, check-in, campsite setup
• Saturday: Program activities, merit badge sessions, rocket launches
• Saturday Evening: Campfire program
• Sunday Morning: Break camp and departure

• All activities are weather dependent
• Proper Scout uniforms and safety guidelines are expected
• Rockets and launch activities will follow all BSA safety standards

• Standard camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc.)
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Mess kit and water bottle
• Scout handbook and any merit badge materials
• Flashlight or headlamp
