The Occoneechee Council Wood Badge training is a five-day course held over two weekends at Camp Durant.
You must attend both weekends to successfully complete the course.

This year's Wood Badge course will be held Sept. 5-7, 2025 and Oct. 4-5, 2025.  Both weekends begin at 7am.

What is Wood Badge?
Wood Badge is Scouting America's ultimate leadership training for adults, offering a 5-day leadership training for adults, this course offers immersion in the theory, practice, and experience of developing teams, communicating effectively, leading change, and much more. The skills, tools, and resources you gain will extend beyond scouting and can benefit your family, professional, and community life.

Who should take Wood Badge?

Just starting out as a leader or been in Scouting for decades?
Wood Badge is the perfect fit!
This course is open to all registered Scout leaders, ages 18+, in all program areas (Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, Venturing, Exploring, District, and Council) who have completed basic position-specific training for their role.  

How can I sign up?

Cost for the course is $325.00.  

A $50 deposit is required at registration with the balance due by August 2nd, 2025.

All Occoneechee Council Events are stand-alone events and fees do not roll from one event to another. A refund of 100% of event fees can be issued up to 30 days prior to the start of the event. From 30-15 days prior to the event start, a 50% refund can be issued. Within 15 days prior to the event start, refunds will not be issued.
