Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training

Where: Corwin Training Center (Formerly Baden-Powell Lodge), Winnebago Scout Reservation, Rockaway, NJ.

Why: This course is part of the training set to be considered trained in your position as Scoutmaster or assistant Scoutmaster.  Individuals in Cub Scouting or other positions within the ScoutsBSA program will greatly benefit from the components as well.

What will I learn: The outdoor skills a Scout must learn in order to reach First Class rank, including First Aid, Building Fires, Cooking, Ropes-Whipping,Tying & Lashing, Using a Compass and Map, Working with Wood Tools, Identifying Plants and Animals, and lots of others.
How to function using the patrol method.
How to teach these skills to both youth and adults.

What should I bring:

Proof of current, completed Youth Protection Training
Brown bag lunch for Saturday, bottled water and coffee will be provided
Annual Health and Medical Record Parts A & B are required for this course! BSA Medical Form Parts A & B
