Event Details

Camp Inferno: Public Safety Adventure for Scouts BSA

Dates: September 19–21, 2025
Location: Rhodes France Scout Reservation
Weekend Campout – Check-in 9/19 from 5 pm - 9pm.  Contact Andy Brookman at andy.brookman@scouting.org for check-in outside of this time frame.  Check-out Sunday no later than 10 am.
Who: Open to registered Scouts BSA Troops and adult leaders only
Registration Fee: $35 per Scout/Leader

Camp Inferno is a thrilling, Scouts BSA-exclusive weekend event that brings your Troop face-to-face with the real-life heroes of public safety! Hosted in collaboration with fire departments, bomb squads, police and state police, and Air Evac teams, this immersive experience blends adventure, career exploration, and skill-building like never before.

Event Highlights:

  • Live demos: Fire suppression, vehicle extrication, bomb disposal, and more
  • Hands-on experiences with law enforcement, EMS, and Air Evac crews
  • K-9 demonstrations, emergency vehicle tours, and rescue tools exploration
  • Public safety-related challenges, activities, and merit badge connections
  • Saturday night campfire program featuring first responder guest speakers

Meals:

Units must bring their own food and cooking equipment. All meals will be prepared and cooked in your own Troop’s campsite.

Camp Inferno Gear:

Participants registered and paid before 9/2 will receive a free limited edition Camp Inferno t-shirt and patch.  For participants registering after 9/2, small quantities of limited-edition Camp Inferno T-shirts and hoodies will be available for sale at the event. Apparel pickup at check-in.  

Registration Info:

  • Troop registration required (for Scouts and adult leaders).  No Webelos or Arrow of Light registrations will be allowed.
  • Fee: $35 per participant
  • Includes access to all event programming
  • Campsites assigned per unit
  • Health forms should be kept by unit leadership onsite for each participant in their unit.
  • No walk-ins allowed – pre-registration required.  Event will be capped at 500 participants.
