CUB-O-REE REFUND POLICY
Camp will not be cancelled because of rain or snow. Most program areas will either have cover or will take place indoors. A request for a refund “must be made ‘in writing’ including a simple explanation for the cancellation,” and submitted to Jacob Bakker – at which time it will be reviewed by the the Event Committee. There will, however, be NO REFUNDS for cancellations made after 5:00 PM “on the Friday one week prior to the event”, or for “no shows” the day of the event. Exceptions can be made at the descretion of the committee for uncontrollable extenuating circumstances on a case by case basis.
ATTENTION LION PARENTS
Lion age children ARE welcome to this camp. However, per National BSA guidelines they may NOT participate in the shooting sports events such as BB Gun and Archery. Please remember this is for their safety. We WILL have a separate “active sport” for our Lions that will equal the fun! Please help us respect the rules and safety guidelines from BSA.

- Absolutely “NO” heaters or anything that produces a flame “of any type” are allowed inside tents at BSA events. Any equipment that runs on propane should NOT be used inside your tent! NO sheath knives, machetes, or other oversize knives are to be carried or brought into camp by any parent or Scout.
- Leave your area as clean, or cleaner, than you found it – remember, a Scout is CLEAN!
- You will be doing A LOT of walking. If you have a health problem, PLEASE let us know.
- DO NOT KEEP “ANY” FOOD IN YOUR TENT AT NIGHT unless you want “critters” in your tent with you!! Keep food or snacks inside your vehicle or trailer before you go to bed – the same goes for garbage. (Note: Candy is Food!) Please bring bags of garbage to the back of the dining hall, before leaving on Sunday.
- NO passengers are EVER allowed in the back of pick-up truck, or open SUV at BSA events!
CUB-O-REE NOTES
- Cub-O-Ree can be a 24-hour program. (Saturday to Sunday morning) It is the perfect introductory camping program for “new” or inexperienced campers. All you to do is show up.
- Cub-O-Ree is a “complete package.” In order to reap all the benefits that our program provides, it is recommended that you do not leave until after evening campfire.
- Cub Scouts can attend Cub-O-Ree as a pack, den, or individual family, but it should be a one-on-one with your own son/daughter, for the best camping experience. Moms or dads or both may attend. Other family relatives – grandparents, etc. are also welcome. Siblings and/or other family members may attend. (Note: If there are two Scouts in your family, it is okay to attend with one parent. And, both parents may attend with their Scout(s).
- Note: If you absolutely must bring another child with you whose parent cannot attend, you may do so. It is not recommended, but it is allowed. You must have a note from a parent or guardian that allows for them to be in your care and transport to/from camp. All those that stay at the event must have a Health form part A and B reguardless of Age.
- The program is open to all registered Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and AOL Scouts. Scouting is an age-appropriate program with guidelines that have been developed based on the mental, physical, emotional, and social maturity of youth members. Cub-O-Ree is meant to be a “basic” camping program.
- We are looking forward to seeing you at Camp Childress for our Cub-O-Ree! If you have any questions regarding the information in this packet or about the event, please contact your CUBMASTER or Michelle Stanley at scoutmamachelle@gmail.com
