2025 Council Fall "Scout vs Wild" Camporee

Location: Franklin L. Cary Camp
All Sagamore Council Scouts BSA Members invited for a weekend in the woods!! This year's Fall Council Camporee is wilderness survival themed, and all participants will work towards and earn the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge! See you this fall for a fantastic weekend of Scout Activities, fun times, and survival in the Wilderness. The leader guide will be coming soon!!
Show off the skills needed to complete the badge in one weekend and compete with your fellow scouts to see what it takes to survive in these 6 Scout VS Wild challenges:
Not Your Average Band-Aid: Race the clock to demonstrate treatment for 3 first aid scenarios (Scout to First Class) possible on a wilderness trek
Pneumonia: Adapt to a sudden freezing rainstorm while daypacking to avoid exposure
Look, I have made Fire!: Beat an exposure situation and make a fire using everyday materials in your gear
Can You See Me Now?: How would you like to be found? Signal for help
Bear Claws: What would you do to keep your camp safe from the Cary Camp Wild
Quench your thirst: Complete a water purification challenge for time and taste.
To eastern the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge: We invite you to rotate through 6 Knowledge Stations.
For the Patrol Competition portion: The top three patrols will each receive a unique camporee patch and a unique survival kit with the overall winning patrol also receiving a special troop keepsake.
In conjunction with requirements 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,and 10. Scouts may complete requirement 8 prior to, during, or after this camporee. (8.Improvise a natural shelter. For the purpose of this demonstration, use techniques that have little negative impact on the environment. Spend a night in your shelter.) Scouts will be able to scavenge for building materials. Each SM will be responsible to validate completion of this requirement. Blue Cards will be handed out at the closing campfire for completion by individual troops to award the merit badge. Scoutmasters, event volunteers, or other adults can deny Blue Cards if a Scout violates the Scout Oath or Scout Law.
Early Bird Cost: $15/person(closes 8/08/2025)!
Normal Cost: $20/person
